A new article on the Younger Dryas is at https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-023-50074-8 … an anomalous peak in platinum and Fe rich microspherules together with high temperature minerals has previously been demonstrated to be a marker of the Younger Dryas boundary event, 12.8 ka years ago. The new study sets out to test that claim in multiple sequences of sandyh, weakly stratified sediments at Wakulla Springs in Florida. The analysis included platinum geochemistry, granulometry, optically stimulated luminescence dating techniques, and culturally dated lithics [stone tools]. Using Basyesian analysis the study revealed a peak of abundance at the Younger Dryas boudary. At the same time it is consistent with the archaeological dating of the lithics vis OSL methodology. These guys ain’t going away. They are growing in numbers and expanding the research. Presumably, this study was in response to a critique.
