East Asia during the Ice Age

At http://news.xinhuanet.com/english2010/culture/2011-08/03/c_131027429.htm … Chinese and Japanese archaeologists say that stone tools (of a particular kind),  common to China, Japan, and Korea, and dating from 25,000 years ago, the height of the Late Glacial Maximum (in Europe and N America), are evidence of a land bridge between what are now islands and a peninsular, separated from the mainland. It is possible the continental shelf system off the coast of East Asia was completely different during the Ice Age.
