George Howard at http://cosmictusk.com/climategate-2-0-540-ad-dust-veil-and-the-mike-bail… discusses an email in the cache from Mike Baillie, a reviewer of an article that was denying a cosmic connection in contrast to his own theory. He makes no pretence of who he is and attempts to argue against the volcanic explanation. Its an interesting take on the peer review process.
At http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142405297020393560457706618376131557… … we have the Wall Street Journal with an article with the title, 'The Great Global Warming Fizzle' by Bret Stephens – how journalists should behave in the face of CAGW activism. Short and sweet.
At http://co2insanity.com/2011/11/15/new-satellite-data-contradicts-carbon-… is a blog by John Sullivan, otherwise a legal scion. What on earth are these people going to do with their spare time if the CAGW meme dies a death as a result of increasingly cold weather in the next few years?
At http://wattsupwiththat.com/2011/11/27/climategate-2-impartiality-at-the-… … if you've ever wondered why the BBC tries so hard to convince us all that CAGW is actually taking place rather than being a figment of the imagination, read this piece by guest poster Barry Woods of the UK, as he probes the email cache that uncovers how committed dear Auntie is to the thesis and how it is that sceptic views are filtered from the air waves and our screens. See also www.bishop-hill.net where the BBC has been a talking point for a week or so as the email cache has unfolded.
At http://arstechnica.com/science/news/2011/11/study-of-the-last-glacial-ma… … is all about a paper that I have downloaded elsewhere and yet to have a look at in detail attempts to show the impact of co2 is perhaps over exaggerated – by using palaeo climate data from the last Ice Age. What it also shows, for anyone interested, is that the last Glacial Maximum was not as cold as expected. You can look at the data from a different lens. The clue is that the authors of the paper are not location specific to western Europe and North America but have used temperature data from a range of different places around the world – and surprise, it was warmer than expected on a global average.
Meanwhile, at www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2011/11/ecoupdate-sudden-antarctica-warmin… … it seems a brief warming spell that occurred abruptly around 15 million years ago has been found. It is being explained away by saying that it was caused by a polarward shift of the Jet Stream. No mention of what might cause the Jet Stream to shift for such a long period.
