An excellent article on the Queen of Sheba appears in the Journal of Creation 24 (2) 2010, a somewhat surprising source in some respects as it is cutting edge history. These sort of articles do not appear in mainstream journals as Velikovsky is ignored – and those that have followed in his footsteps. The author, Patrick Clarke, in 'Why Pharaoh Hatshepsut is not to be equated to the Queen of Sheba' is generally supportive of the John Bimson line in SIS Review VIII (1986), 'Hatshepsut and the Queen of Sheba: A critique of Velikovsky's identification' and in so doing is critical of the Velikovsky , Courville, Down and Sweeney, arguments. The link was provided by somebody on Eric's 'Chronology Thread' – see http://creation.com/images/pdfs/tj/j24_2/j24_2_62-68.pdf. At the same time it might be useful to brush up on another SIS article, in SIS Review IV:4, Hyam Maccoby, 'The Queen of Sheba and the Song of Songs' – presenting a different take altogether, with a nice angle that undermines not only Velikovsky but mainstream too.
