Keeping the Russian meteor story alive and kicking – another big fireball has been seen, along the east coast of North America – see http://tallbloke.wordpress.com/2013/03/23/another-big-meteor-this-time-o… which provides lots of links. See especially http://tallbloke.wordpress.com/213/03/05/andrew-cooper-were-the-recent-a… where the comments have been accumulating since I last posted on this (the subject is the trajectory of the Russian meteor). The speculation develops over time into the possibility that the big space rock was accomapanied by a cloud of fragments, somewhat like a comet tail but in this instance rotating around the big rock, or being pushed forwards by it. The arguments are spread over a large number of pages (if you decide to print them out) but it is well worth reading through as there are essentially three people thinking on the trajectories of what is now some ten meteors within a few days around Feb 15th, and how this conflicts with the official NASA response – which may eventually be upgraded. Excellent train of thought.
