Dr Strangelove science

Climate change

The mad scientist is active and kicking at the boundaries of reason. Dr Strangelove is interferring in nature – for the human good. Of course. At http://phys.org/print290263210.html … we learn that large scale experiments where scientists spray iron into the waters around Antarctica, literally fertilising phytoplankton, have instead, as a side effect, created man-made algal blooms. In spite of this the so called experts (what an expression for interference in the natural world) say they are offsetting rising co2 levels in the atmosphere by producing diatoms that attract co2 in the air and store it in the oceans.

This post is about a study which shows it is all in vain – it is simply a case of unforeseen consequences (once again) and the process has now been proved to be not very effective at actually attracting co2 in any case. The research is published in Nature Communications and seems to be entirely negative – but the adherents are still keen to continue, which is disturbing.

Meanwhile, the cold spring and cold summer in Europe is actually prooof of global warming – go to http://wattsupwiththat.com/2013/06/13/u-n-delegate-a-cold-summer-proves-… … and there you have it in a one line meme. No comment.
