The Meteor and St Paul

30 June 2013
Electromagnetism

This is all a bit speculative but interesting nonetheless. At the 76th Annual Meteoritical Society Meeting (2013) the Chelyabinsk (Russian) meteor will be discussed and historical examples of similar will be aired, which of course include the 1908 Tunguska event. It then back tracked to first century AD as someone suggested a particular person, St Paul none the less, experienced a meteor event near Damascus (the flash of light that was interpreted as the Voice of God speaking to Paul at a personal level). We may well laugh at such thin similarities, but what exactly did Paul see – and cause him to be convinced there was a God and he was addressing him personally. The 76th annual meeting of the Meteoritical Society takes place in Edmonton, Canada, July 29th-Aug2nd, 2013. Chelyabinsk will be on the menu as well as micrometeorites and stardust, impact cratering, asteroid parent bodies, carbonaceous chondrites, shock processes, stony irons and iron meteors, etc.  Go to http://metsoc2013edmonton.org/
