Blackest Worms Yet

At http://phys.org/print320658152.html … two Chinese researchers have suggested black holes might not be all they are cracked up to be. They may in fact be burrows leading to an alternative universe, a feature known as Worm Holes – but is it as whacky as black holes? The paper is available to view at the preprint server arXiv and was prompted by the discovery of a bright source of radio waves emanating from the centre of our galaxy. This, in consensus consideration, is evidence of a lurking black hole in the heart of our galaxy – but which is realy the most whacky idea, worm hole or black hole? See http://arxiv.org/abs/1405.1883)

At http://phys.org/print320681417.html … the Chandra X-ray Observatory has been looking at giant elliptical galaxies which seem to have few young stars – if any. This new evidence, it is claimed, highlights the important role that supermassive black holes play. Such galaxies are thought to be red and dead – almost lifeless, sucked dry by the black hole in their soul. Therefore, consensus theory says they should not possess a lot of gas, the kind that is thought to promulgate star formation – but they do. Lots and lots of cold gas has been found in some of the elliptical galaxies. What is the explanation? Consensus theory is just that – consensus. Instead of asking if the theory of black holes might be a little overstated they jump to the conclusion that it is all the fault of over-active black holes – with a ravenous hunger (eating the young stars as fast as they form).

At http://spaceweather.com … scroll down to May 31st (2014) where we have a piece on noctilucent clouds. These are thought to be seeded by 'metwor smoke' – NASAs AIM spacecraft is orbing Earth in order to study noctilucent clouds (among other things) and it is this mission that discovered the meteor connection. In recent years noctilucent clouds have been seen as far south as Colorado – more eivdence we are in a cooling phase of the 60 year cycle.
