At http://phys.org/print397989728.html … Saturn is a big planet – and it has a huge jet stream 70,000 km wide. There is currently no theory out there to explain the nature of this jet stream, they say, nor the source of the energy that feeds it. Is that right?
Over at http://phys.org/print397989575.html … we now have Comet Hondu-Mykos-Pajdusakova homing into binocular vision (more easily to be labelled in future as Comet 45P). This will reach maximum brightness in February 2017. However, this is a short period comet and has an orbit of five and a quarter years – so it must have been here in 2011 and 2006 too (and was discovered as long ago as 1948.
