Piers Corbyn, at www.weatheraction.com/displayarticle.asp?a=351&c=5 is now saying it's effects were negligible as it was not a face-on event (it was not facing towards the earth) which appears to be a reasonable diagnosis.This, he emphasizes, is ongoing research. Interesting to stay abreast of just how the Sun affects the earth via the solar wind.
