The idea of solar cycles or any kind of weather cycle is discussed at Judith Curry's web site Climate Etc, www.judithcurry.com/2011/07/27/cyclomania/ and at Tallbloke's Talkshop at http://tallbloke.wordpress.com/2011/02/21/tallbloke-and-tim-channon-a-cy…. Are such cycles imaginary, a product of computers, or are they real and even if they are how far back into the past can they be extrapolated? The comments on both sites are interesting as the posts are designed to get the commenters on song. Both are inspired by recent fear mongering over low solar activity and both sites have posts on the recent paper by Loehle and Scafetta which has upset the Team. Some of the commenters are strongly pro-AGW while others are lukewarm and still others in outright denial with more faith than others in cyclomania. When one reads such posts you begin to realise that all is not lost and everyone is not being stampeded into the AGW orgy of self loathing. As AGW proceeds on its blinkered way organised crime is depleting the populations of elephants, rhinoceros and tigers – and nothing is being done that is effective. Just talk the talk – empty words from mouths that operate like clockwork toys, wind them up and they say the same thing over and over again ( see .
