At www.physorg.com/print235809985.html it begins by saying the universe would not be the same without the Higgs Boson. The search for this elusive particle would help scientists understand the birth of the universe from the Big Bang. It can explain the speed and magnitude of the expansion … and there follows an outline of the calculations that were made to arrive at this article of belief.
At www.physorg.com/print235717359.html … it begins, 'we know that about a quarter of the matter of the universe is dark matter but we don't know what it is' which is a frank admission and puts the situation in a proper perspective. In this piece they wonder if primordial black holes might be the key to dark matter.
At various web sites and blogs and on the television and radio news broadcasts we are being told that Einstein might be wrong and the speed of light might not be the fastest thing to move in the universe. At http://wattsupwiththat.com/2011/09/22/a-disturbance-in-the-force-cern-fi… is just one place to go to read up on the subject – there are some interesting comments (and others not so). An experiment at CERN has found faster than light particles – which is being rechecked and rechecked. It appears the discovery is not the first time this has been found. In an earlier example the discovery was debunked. However, CERN is a very robust experiment by experienced scientists – this will not happen this time. If it is true?
