Basically, the ability of the consensus theory to detail the formation of the solar system is found wanting. It is suggested in this piece that the planets were once packed close to each other and only spread out when the disc of gas and dust from which they were formed was spent. So, a mainstream scientist is toying with the idea the solar system can reshuffle itself – what next?
