At http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/opinion/scott-pruitt-is-absolutely-right-a… … link sent in by William. One of Trump's fake news channels seems to have come up trumps by publishing this piece of analysis regarding other media outfits. The interview by CNBC of Scott Pruitt the new head of the EPA went hyper at a host of media stations and newspapers. He is contradicting global warming science and that kind of stuff. All he actually said was that the jury was out on co2 being a major driver of global warming – and it wasn't the only atmospheric constituent that was involved. These are actually the facts of science – but not of CAGW. In this piece Pruitt is defended and the tables overturned. The author accuses journalists and the media big wigs of warbling in the wind. The average journalist did not understand the science and merely repeated the PR from the CAGW faithful (and the guys and gals making lots of dough from renewables). I wonder how that went down with the readers?
Over at https://tallbloke.wordpress.com/2017/03/14/how-the-recent-el-nino-saved-… … which is a trifle tongue in cheek as it is only by showing the last few year's temperatures that they can be made to look anything like the spike in the models. The El Nino of 2015/2016 caused a massive rise in global temperatures – corresponding as it did with the middle of a solar cycle (when the sun was also in a fairly active mode) and saved the climate models (suffering from a long pause since the last big El Nino in 1998. It seems that Wikipedia has decided that the Daily Mail is not a fit purveyor of science (but presumably the Daily Mirror is) and academics are keen to rubbish recent Mail Online claims that have criticised the global warming/ climate change song and dance. This it seems is why the dodgy graph was done – in order to show an uptick in line with climate models. It says a lot about the academics but not a lot about the climate.
