Coronal Hole Ejection

25 April 2025
Astronomy, Electromagnetism

At https://spaceweather.com … on April 21st 2025, it had a post on a very large hole in the Sun’s atmosphere that spewed a stream of very fast moving plasma directly towardss the Earth. This struck on April 22nd, a fast flowing solar wind that caught up and enveloped slower moving plasma. It created a CME like shock wave.

At https://www.livescience.com/space/astronomy/weird-repeating-nova-explosion-is-one-of-the-hottest-blasts-ever-seen … astronomers researching a nova explosion, in fact a repeating explosion, say it was the hottest ever stumbled upon by Earth telescopes. Apparently, supernovas result in stars exploding and disappearing but novas, once the dust settles, clearly continue in existence, despite generating excessive heat, or re-exploding.

At https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2025/04/250416152124.htm … meteor showers can be unpredictable. It poses the question – why do comets and meteor streams weave in and out of Earth’s orbit,  and their orbits disappear over time. Possibly the meteor streams left behind by the passae of a comet. It’s all to do with the Sun – giving them a kick. The Sun’s movement around the barycentre of our solar system seems to play a role. Not entirely, perhaps – but enough to exert movement. The research seems to replace a perceived common view that the planets caused comets and meteor streams to move in and out, providing the necessary kick. We may wonder what role the solar wind may play – buffeting comets and their debris.
